I want to give some background into the world of facebook, linked in, google or any other social media advertising platform that a lot of people even so called "experts" in the space. And also some benefits to using online platforms instead of "old school" ways of advertising.
Okay first off, let's take a magazine page ad. We have 1 photo maybe a few if we want to blend them together like a collage, 1 body of copy, and perhaps 1 headline and sub headline. This is all you can do. The way to track that would be to have a call to action at the end of your body. You would have no idea if your ad worked or not unless you had a specific phone line connected to it(unlike now through website traffic analytics).
Now let's take the new way of advertising direct outreach. Which is online. Although yes you have to work with the same format you can create unlimited forms of ad sets in your campaign. Different images, different headlines, different call to actions, different body copy. And you can run them all simultaneously and track daily mathematically to see if your ad is working or not. Not to mention if it's too expensive, the quality of leads are bad, or if it's just plain broken.
The old method is to have 1 image(or video), one body, and one headline. Why limit yourself when you can have hundreds all being tested simultaneously, cheaper and can be altered or turned off in 1 second flat.
Tell me what's the smarter thing to do.
Next, how do you track all of this? Sound's like a lot of work doesn't it? Well what if I told you you could track 100 ad sets in under an hour a day and know exactly what's working and isn't in a matter of days instead of hoping it'll work for the issue you let paid for.
